Resolved Bug: 'Claiming Rewards' Issue
The core developers have identified and resolved a bug related to users claiming rewards. Due to the epoch not closing properly and a missing constraint check on the ‘claim_rewards’ function to ensure an epoch was closed (and not merely over), anyone who claimed delegation rewards from Saturday, 23rd September to Monday, 25th September received no rewards for the epoch that ended September 25th.
The impact was minimal, a few affected users received no rewards during that period.
This was addressed by adding a temporary endpoint to distribute the delegation rewards to the affected users that weren’t allocated the first time. The rewards were automatically sent to these users, and will appear in their wallets without any action required on their part. There was no impact on the Network.
A check was added to the claim endpoint that ensures this doesn’t happen again. This issue is now resolved and has been deployed.
