@everyone | Fleek Network Phase 1: Preview
After a successful Phase 0, focused on network correctness, it's time to prepare for Phase 1.
The next phase will start early October, changing focus towards a new goal– proving performance and introducing services to the network.
Phase 1 will see the release and testing of the first basic edge services within Fleek Network, to be benchmarked against existing applications providing similar functionalities today:
- IPFS content retrieval (CDN/bandwidth)
- IPFS upload (bandwidth)
- Image Resizing/Optimization (compute)*
- Turborepo Cache Server (compute/bandwidth)*
*Service list is not final and subject to change.
Together with services, other core network functionalities will be introduced for testing, such as the transaction broadcaster and synchronizer, the reward/slashing systems, and more.
Though this phase will start around the first or second week of October, applications for node operator whitelisting will open tomorrow, Wednesday 20th of September at 12pm EST / 16pm UTC ⚡. You can prepare by reading (channel) to be ready for when applications open in (channel).
