Hello @Community, @Hotspot Owner,
📢 Reminder: HIP 91 is Ending Soon!
The period for HIP 91, an extension to HIP 69, is coming to a close. These two HIPs set the IOT Hotspot location assertion network fee to $5 worth of Data Credits as a temporary measure to drive more redeployment of Hotspots to new geographies.
This reminder to the Helium community is to provide ample notice that at the end of the day on January 20th, 2024, UTC, the network will revert to requiring $10 worth of Data Credits for a location change unless a subsequent governance proposal is proposed, passed, and implemented.
The Helium Foundation will provide a report of all Hotspot Onboard and Location Assertions for the last year so that the community can reflect on the effectiveness of this implementation. Although this data is publicly accessible through on-chain sources, the Foundation will work with an ecosystem team to provide a dashboard that will automatically update by the end of next week.
