What is this network?

The Gensyn network is a Machine Learning Compute Protocol that unites all of the world's compute into a global supercluster, accessible by anyone at any time. It is a layer-1 trustless protocol for deep learning computation that directly and immediately rewards supply-side participants for pledging their compute time to the network and performing Machine Learning (ML) tasks. The network is designed to be decentralized and permissionless, allowing any device in the world to connect to Gensyn.

How can I mine tokens?

In the Gensyn network, tokens are not mined in the traditional sense. Instead, users are compensated with tokens for loaning their idle computing power to the network. This is achieved through a process where devices submit proofs to the Gensyn blockchain to prove that the model has been trained as requested. The protocol requires no administrative overseer or legal enforcement, rather facilitating task distribution and payments programmatically through smart contracts.

Any geographical restrictions?

The Gensyn network is open to anyone, allowing infrastructure owners anywhere in the world to earn revenue for performing compute tasks in the network. It is a fully remote company, hiring talent from all over the world.

How can I optimize my mining rewards?

To optimize mining rewards, users can maximize the use of their idle computing power. The more compute time a user pledges to the network and the more ML tasks they perform, the more they are rewarded. The Gensyn protocol ensures that the remaining margin, decreased by fair competition, is proportionally captured by every participant.

How can I use the network?

Users can use the Gensyn network by supplying their idle computing power to the network and performing ML tasks. They can also access the network to train their own ML models. The Gensyn Protocol will enable anyone to train ML models for any task using a self-organising network that encompasses every source of compute power in existence.

Who governs this network?

The Gensyn network is governed in a decentralized manner by an elected council that makes decisions based on on-chain proposals and referenda. Initially, members of the council will be tightly mapped to core members of Gensyn Limited and the early community in order to quickly develop the protocol. As time goes on, the council will become more decentralized.

Funding

Gensyn has secured significant funding to support its development. It raised over €5.8 million in an early funding round, and later secured a $43 million Series A funding round, led by venture capital giant a16z. The company has raised more than $50 million in total and plans to use the fresh capital to accelerate the introduction of the protocol and to expand its workforce, including the addition of protocol and machine learning engineers.
