πŸ’« About

What is this network?

Truebit is a blockchain enhancement that enables smart contracts to securely and affordably perform complex computations in standard programming languages. It counteracts the shortcoming of large computation tasks posing security risks for blockchains via a trustless, retrofitting oracle which correctly performs computational tasks. Any smart contract can issue a computation task to this oracle in the form of WebAssembly bytecode, while anonymous β€œminers” receive rewards for correctly solving the task. The oracle’s protocol guarantees correctness in two layers: a unanimous consensus layer where anyone can object to faulty solutions, and an on-chain mechanism which incentivizes participation and ensures fair remuneration.

How can I mine tokens?

To mine tokens, you can participate as a Task Giver, Solver, or Verifier. Task Givers can issue computational tasks while Solvers and Verifiers receive remuneration for correctly solving them. Tokens are available for purchase directly through Truebit OS, and all sales transact in ETH. You can request network access through the contact form on the Truebit website, providing information about yourself, your GitHub handle, and your interest(s) in using Truebit. After gaining access, you can follow the QuickStart guide to get your Truebit node up and running.

How can I optimize my mining rewards?

Optimizing mining rewards in a Proof-of-Work network like Truebit involves strategic decision-making about network connections. To maximize rewards, a miner must choose its network connections carefully, ensuring existence of paths to other miners that are on average of a lower latency compared to paths between other miners. Additionally, the Truebit protocol uses a probabilistic reward scheme which pays Verifiers for discovering bugs. This forced error mechanism occasionally rewards Solvers for providing wrong answers and ensures that Verifiers get some rewards.

How can I use the network?

You can use the Truebit network by installing Truebit, connecting to GΓΆrli or Ethereum mainnet networks, solving, verifying and issuing tasks, and finally building your own tasks. The Truebit-OS command line client configurations for solving and verifying tasks, some libraries ported to WebAssembly, an wasm module wrapper for adding runtime hooks, a Rust tool for generating tasks, the off-chain interpreter for executing and snapshotting computations, as well as sample tasks are all included in the comprehensive Ethereum implementation.
